Roller Coaster Investigation
Knowledge Probe: The knowledge probe for this investigation will take several class periods. We will begin with two-column notes to learn some important vocabulary and background knowledge, then we will learn how to calculate gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy, and finally we will work with an online simulation called Energy Skate Park. All three of these activities will lead up to the designing and building of a foam-tube roller coaster.
Roller Coaster Instigation MASS - This part of the investigation is about the relationship between Kinetic Energy and Mass.
Roller Coaster Investigation VELOCITY - This part of the investigation is about the relationship between KE and velocity.
Roller Coaster Investigation Wrap Up - This document ties the MASS and VELOCITY parts of the investigation together.
