R.O.A.R. in Science
At DeWitt Middle School, we strive to make our school a safe and welcoming environment in which students can grow and learn. To that end, we have developed behavior expectations using the acronym R.O.A.R. (Respect Each Other, Own It, Act Responsibly, and Reach for Excellence). In this classroom, that means:

- Use good listening skills when someone is speaking.
- Respect classroom property and the property of others.
- Be polite.
- Behave in a way that promotes a positive learning environment.
- Set aside time to study for tests and quizzes.
- Be honest.- Participate positively in group activities.
- Ask for help when you need it.
- Take responsibility for mistakes and do your best to make it right.
- Bring required materials to class.
- Use your planner every day.
- Turn in assignments on time.
- Take care of materials and leave your area clean.
- If you miss class, take care of make-up work in a timely fashion.
- Know and follow the DeWitt Junior High Code of Conduct.
- Always produce “beautiful work”.
- Set high expectations for yourself and work hard to reach them.
- Encourage others’ learning and look for ways to be helpful.
- Choose to be positive!
