The Fizz Inflator LabWe had fun time this week with the Fizz Inflator Lab! Students selected their own question, designed their own experiment, collected and analyzed data, and wrote a claim-evidence-reasoning explanation. At this point, their lab packets should be complete. If there are any portions that are not done, they should be complete for homework this weekend. Tentative plans for September 18-22Monday:
Present and Defend our Fizz Inflator Investigations* *As students present, they will turn in their completed lab packets. The Data Analysis section will be graded for understanding. All other sections will be graded for completion. Students can find the score sheet for the lab in Google Classroom. Tuesday: Finish any presentations if necessary. Review for the QPOEE quiz Homework: Study for tomorrow's quiz! (Use your foldable and the Science Starters from the last few days. There is also a quizlet available if you wish to use it.) Wednesday: QPOEE Quiz! This quiz will cover all of the success criteria for the single learning target in this mini-unit. The learning target and well as a link to a Quizlet set can be found in Google Classroom. Thursday: Begin IRP topic selection process Preliminary research Friday: Continue with IRP Research (Day 2 of 4) More research and group meetings

Is this page just for parents and guardians? No! This blog is for anyone who wants to know what is going on in our class (that should include students too!). Just because the language is written with parents/guardians in mind, that doesn't mean that students won't benefit from checking in with this blog. It just means that parents don't have to wade through all of the resources posted under the instructional unit section of this site. Likewise, that section of the website isn't meant to be a "parent-free" zone. Parents/guardians can use the resources posted there to help their student or just to stay in touch with what's going on in the classroom. Archives
